Atlanta Floor-Loaded Container Unloading

Hand-unloading ocean containers and palletizing the freight as it comes off.

You need this when

  • A 20ft or 40ft container is arriving hand-stacked to the ceiling.
  • Per-diem or demurrage is accruing and the box has to go back.
  • The goods need to be on pallets before they can be racked or shipped on.
  • Your own site has no dock-height access for a container chassis.

Why floor-loaded containers exist at all

Ocean freight is priced on the box, not the pallet, so filling every cubic inch is worth real money at origin — and pallets waste that space. The saving is genuine. It just moves the cost to the destination, where the container has to be emptied by hand. Knowing that trade has been made in advance is the difference between a planned unload and an unpleasant surprise on the chassis.

The box is on a clock the freight is not

Demurrage runs while the container sits at the terminal; per-diem runs while you have it. Both are charged daily against the equipment, and neither cares what is inside. Devanning promptly and returning the empty caps that exposure — after which the goods can be stored, reworked or shipped on at whatever pace suits the business.
